Artist Statement

I am fascinated by the innate human tendency to seek patterns and familiar forms within spontaneous designs. My work invites viewers to discover the familiar within the abstract, drawing out echoes of the natural world and the industrial modern landscape. I delve into the impressions and memories of familiar shapes and lines that arise in my mind where there is an intersection of the natural environment and industrial modernity. Through this reflection, I discover a place of reverence.

I begin each painting with spontaneous, intuitive marks—unplanned lines and intersections of color—using a palette knife to build rich textures and layers. Through this process, I actively search for and highlight recognizable shapes and features that emerge from the complexity. Within this inner landscape, bold and subtle forms emerge and interact, inviting viewers to connect with their own experiences and symbolic worlds.

Through intuitive painting, my expression unfolds in a non-linear manner, free from conventional vocabulary, yet it has the power to convey symbolic meaning and communicate inherent imprints of both nature and the industrial world. This process inspires me and evokes a sense of sacredness within the setting, allowing for subtle connections.
